Fifth seed Botic van de Zandschulp made short work of Portugguese tennis player Joao Sousa in the first round of the 2022 ATP Tel Aviv Open on Tuesday. The Dutchman recorded an impressive 6-2, 6-3 win over Sousa to advance to the round if 16 where he will face Liam Broady. Van de Zandschulp’s service game was on point as he recorded eight aces and committed only three double faults. His win percentage on the first and second serves were 78% and 67% respectively, and he managed to win four out of nine break points to seal the victory.

Unseeded British tennis player Liam Broady had to go through a couple of qualifying matches to make it through to the main draw of the Tel Aviv Open this season. In his first main draw match, the Brit displayed a fine performance to get the better of Hamad Medjedovic 7-5, 6-3. Broady recorded eight aces and converted four out of five break points to take the win and move on to the last 16.
