The no 2 seed Mate Pavic and Shuai Zhang defeated the American pair Madison Keys and Bjorn Fratangelo in straight sets 6-4, 6-2. Meanwhile Franko Skugor and Ena Shibahara get past the round of the 16 by defeating the Łukasz Kubot and Lucie Hradecká in straight sets 6-3, 6-4 . It will be worth watching as the competition is near end and which pair would book their ticket to the semifinals of the US open.
Skugor/Shibahara and Pavic/Zhang are scheduled to face each other on Tuesday, September 6 in the quarterfinal of the 2022 US Open. The fourth and final Grand Slam of the season began on August 29 and will go on until September 11.
