Defending champion Emma Raducanu might just be seeded 11th, but she is certainly not one to be taken lightly by any stretch.
As the month of August nears its end, the world of tennis shifts their attention to the fourth and final Grand Slam of the season, the US Open. 2022 will mark the 142nd edition of one of the most prestigious sporting events in the world. Men’s singles defending champion Daniil Medvedev might not have been a part of the 2022 Wimbledon Championships but he will surely give it his all to defend his crown in New York City. The same can be said for defending women’s singles champion, Emma Raducanu. The Brit was one of the youngest to win the Grand Slam in the competition’s history last season, although she has not been displaying a similar form of late. The US duo of Rajeev Ram and Joe Salisbury are the defending men’s doubles champions while Zhang Shuai and Samantha Stosur will play to defend their women’s doubles crown. Desirae Krawczyk and Salisbury are the current mixed doubles champions.
