On Thursday, the two-time Grand Slam champion Simona Halep will play the 17th-seeded Elena Rybakina in the semifinals of the 2022 Wimbledon.

The former world number one Simona Halep overcame the 20th-seeded Amanda Anisimova with ease on Wednesday at Wimbledon, winning by the score of 6-2, 6-4 in straight sets. as she advances imperiously into her second final at SW19, the Romanian player has been extremely clinical over the past ten days in London. The previous time she visited (2019), she advanced to the final and defeated Serena Williams 6-2, 6-2 to win the title. In the entire event, Halep only one set. Simona has also been on a spectacular run this time around, defeating Paula Badosa, Magdalena Frech, Kirsten Flipkens, and Karolina Muchova in straight sets to advance. The 16th seed has kept up a powerful service game with less unforced errors over the entire season. With one more victory, Halep will reach her second final with a record of 31-8. As she recently achieved her best Grand Slam performances, Elena Rybakina is currently on cloud nine. Rybakina is currently rated 23rd, primarily because of fitness issues. Her form has slightly suffered after she made it to the final of the Adelaide International due to health issues. She underperformed in the early rounds, and it wasn’t until the American swing that Rybakina’s game started to show signs of rhythm. Rybakina has excelled at Wimbledon. She has defeated Qinwen Zheng, the resurgent Canadian Bianca Andreescu and Coco Vandeweghe all in straight sets. She won against Petra Martic 7-5, 6-3 and then held her composure to beat Ajla Tomljanovic in the quarterfinals, 4-6, 6-2, 6-3. Last time Rybakina met Halep, it was Halep who beat her in US open 2021 with 7-6, 4-6, 6-3 in a thrilling three-set contest.
Simona Halep and Elena Rybakina are scheduled to face each other on Thursday, July 7 in the Semifinal round of the 2022 Wimbledon Championships. The timing of the match has not been decided yet. The Championship is scheduled to begin on June 27 and go on until July 10.
