Novak Djokovic, the number one seed On Friday, July 8th, will face Briton Cameron Norrie in the 2022 Wimbledon semi-finals. The 20-time major winner is vying for his sixth crown at the All England Club, which appeared doubtful at moments during his quarter-final match against Jannik Sinner. The reigning champion sought to go on from where he had left off in the previous rounds, and he was off to a solid start. A Djokovic masterclass followed, with great serving and superb court coverage allowing him to break early in the fifth and serve out the decisive 6-2, securing another position in the Wimbledon last four.
Cameron Norrie advanced to the quarter-finals of a Grand Slam for the first time in his career after defeating American Tommy Paul in straight sets. Since last year, the Briton has been expanding his résumé, becoming the number one British player, winning the Indian Wells Masters 1000 last year and finishing second in Acupulco. Norrie has a well-deserved semi-final in front of his home supporters, but he is up against one of the finest players on this court and in history. Djokovic will be focused following his recovery in the quarterfinals and should be clinical in the next round.
Novak Djokovic v Cameron Norrie are scheduled to face each other on Friday, July 8 in the quarter-final round of the 2022 Championships. The timing of the match has not been decided yet. The Championship is scheduled to begin on June 27 and go on until July 10. There will be another semi final on 8 July and who will play that semi final will be decided on 6th July.
