Norwegian tennis player Casper Ruud is one of those players who will have semi-final hopes at the US Open. Things will definitely not be easy as Ruud will have to go through a number of top players to get to stage. For now, he will focus on Britain’s Kyle Edmund, who he faces in the first round. Ruud went the distance at the Swiss Open earlier this month, beating Matteo Berrettini in the final to lift the crown. After that, the Norwegian participated in the Canadian Open and Cincinnati Masters. In the latter, he was eliminated in the first round but he reached the last four in Canada.
Kyle Edmund had a decent performance at the recently concluded Winston-Salem Open where he reached the round of 16. At the Citi Open before that, the Brit was ousted in the round of 32 after a disappointing performance against veteran Dan Evans.
Casper Ruud and Kyle Edmund are scheduled to face each other on Monday, August 29 at 9:45 pm IST in the first round of the 2022 US Open. The fourth and final Grand Slam is set to begin on August 29 and go on until September 11 this year.
