The American duo William Blumberg and Cate Mcnally defeated the no 1 seed Neal Skupski and Desirae Krawczyk in straight sets 6-2, 6-4. This was definitely the big upset moment for Neal but despite that the American duo has been playing well for the whole tournament . Meanwhile the pair of David Vega Hernandez and Jelena Ostapenko defeated the duo of Michael Venus and Ellen Perez by 6-1, 6-1 to book their places in the quarterfinal round of the 2022 US open.
Mcnally/Blumberg and Ostapenko/Hernandez are scheduled to face each other on Tuesday, September 6 in the quarterfinal of the 2022 US Open. The fourth and final Grand Slam of the season began on August 29 and will go on until September 11.
