Kaylee Rochelle McKeown, popularly known as Kaylee McKeown, is a swimmer who represents Australia in competitive swimming. McKeown came home from the Tokyo Olympic Games as a triple Olympic gold medalist, having won three gold medals and one bronze medal in her inaugural Games. At the Olympic trials, Kaylee broke the world record in the 100-meter backstroke with a lightning-quick time of 57.45 seconds. This made her the only swimmer from Australia or the US to do so. The swimmer, who was then based on the Sunshine Coast, was in great shape going into the Games, despite the disruption of the 2020 international season due to COVID-19. Kaylee achieved three personal bests at the Queensland Virtual Championships. In the short course competition, she achieved a new world record in the 200-meter backstroke (1:58.94). Kaylee beat it by nearly a half-second. At the same event, McKeown ran the second-fastest 200-meter individual medley time (2:03.68), and she also set a personal record in the 100-meter back (55.68) to become the overall best performer.
