Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic is set to undergo his medical before completing his move to Juventus, according to multiple Italian media reports. Football Italia reported that he might pick up the No.7 jersey at the club which was last donned by five-time Ballon d’Or holder Cristiano Ronaldo. “Vlahovic is still in Florence, waiting to recover from COVID. The striker tested positive last week and will have a new swab test tomorrow. If it comes back positive again, Juventus will make him sign his contract anyway, given that the striker has already obtained the availability to play at the beginning of the season,” Football Italia said in a report.

Vlahovic will turn 22 tomorrow and hopes to celebrate with a trip to Turin and his medical examinations with his new club. He was wearing the No.9 shirt at Fiorentina, but that belongs to Alvaro Morata at Juventus.

The Spanish striker is unlikely to join Barcelona in the January transfer window, so Vlahovic may need to wait until the next campaign to wear the No.9 in Turin.

Other jersey numbers available at Juventus are 13, 15, 16, 26, 28, 29 or from 31 onwards, except for Mattia Perin’s 36 and Dejan Kulusevski’s 44.

Ronaldo had left the Italian football giants to re-sign for Manchester United at the Premier League after three years together and 133 appearances, 101 goals scored and five trophies won.

“He was the first player in Juventus history to score at least 100 goals in all competitions in his first three seasons with Juventus, and since his arrival in Serie A, he has scored more goals than any other player: 81, at least 10 more than any other. Not only that, with the aforementioned title of top scorer, he also become the first to sit on the throne of the top goalscorers in Serie A, LaLiga and the Premier League,” the official Juventus website said.

“The unforgettable moments experienced together were many. We could recite them and relive them, but it would not help, because everyone has their own special memory linked to CR7. Everyone has a shared emotion that does not need to be dusted off, because everyone will always remember what they felt in walking this stretch of road together,” it added.
