Fiorentina have reportedly agreed a deal to sign Arthur Cabral from Basel for 14.5 million euro plus 2 million euro add-ons. The Brazilian will replace Dusan Vlahovic, who is set to join Juventus. Sky Sport Italia reports the 23-year-old is on the verge of moving to the Stadio Artemio franchi after Fiorentina and Basel reached an agreement over his transfer fee. Cabral’s current contract with Basel only runs to June 2023 and he is ready for the next step up in his career. He made the move from Palmeiras in 2019, initially on loan and then on a permanent basis for a total 7 million euro fee.

Cabral has scored 14 goals in 18 Super League games this season and has netted 27 times in 31 appearances across all competitions. According to a report, Fiorentina will pay up to 16.5 million euro , including add-ons to secure his services.
In Cabral’s first season with Basel, he scored 14 goals and provided five assists in 26 league games. Fiorentina provides a unique opportunity as they are now looking for a new starting striker. It will be difficult to replace Vlahovic, but Cabral is both young and proven.
Basel will earn 7% of the fee while Cabral’s former clubs in Brazil, Palmeiras and Ceara, will get 15% each. Cabral has already said goodbye to his teammates in Basel and will sign a contract until 2027 at the Artemio Franchi.
Fiorentina also recently completed a move for Jonathan Ikone with Lille. The French winger will bolster the team’s attack and now they need another young star to partner him, this is where Cabral comes into place. Ikone has already made three appearances, and the same should be expected for Cabral.
Kerzysztof Platek has already joined Fiorentina on loan from Hertha Berlin with an option to buy for 15 million euro. The club is having a dream season so far. Fiorentina is seventh in the Serie A points table with 36 points from 22 games. Europa League qualification is a possibility.
