Kylian Mbappe is fast, he has a knack of scoring goals and calls a spade a spade at a young age of 23. He has become the heart of Paris Saint-Germain attack and although the French forward remains highly linked to European giants Real Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester City, he remains professional in his approach and has shown no desire to move away from his current club. He is, moreover, considered the next big thing in international football alongwith the likes of Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland. There is also little doubt that the youngster can be a Ballon d’Or contender — the best football player in the world — in near future.

Mbappe bursted into the scene in 2016-17 with Monaco and since then has gone to play a pivotal role in winning four league titles, three Coupe de France crowns, two Coupe de la Ligue with the French side besides being a part of the national team in their 2018 World Cup triumph.

His consistency has helped him to become an established name for his club and the French side. It is also telling as his performance has made French president Macron write an eulogy on him in the sports newspaper L’Equipe.

Macron believes that 23-year-old has the courage and resistance to continue amazing the French fans. He simply doesn’t want Mbappe to stop enchanting the Ligue 1 fans with his attitude on and off the field.

‘Lucidity, courage, resistance’

“Kylian Mbappe may be so young, but he espoused the excellence of his sport for [his] club and national team, he lived the most extreme experiences and he demonstrated the qualities of the greatest: lucidity, courage, resistance. I am sure of one thing: he will continue to amaze us,” Macron wrote in the newspaper L’Equipe.

“Everyone obviously wishes him to make this promise come true by building the best track record in European football and above all to continue to enchant the public with his jubilant gestures, his brilliant passes and his magical goals. We know that he can.

“But if Kylian Mbappe has taken a special place in the hearts of the French, it is also through his attitude on and off the field.”

Mbappe joined the French giants in 2017. He has scored more that 150 goals in 196 appearances which ranks him as the third highest goal scorer in Europe’s top five league behind Robert Lewandowski (208 goals) and new PSG team-mate Lionel Messi (162).

All this, however, only at the start of his career.
