Sergio Ramos has put his weight behind Paris Saint-Germain to challenge all the titles in Europe. The legendary Spanish centre back further mentioned that the club has figured out a unique sporting project which will transpire every footballer to play for the French giants. The record-Ligue 1 champions are currently nine points clear at top in the French league. Ramos will also face his former club and Spanish giants Real Madrid in the Round of 16 of the Champions League on February 16. It will be a heavy test for PSG who have the likes of Lionel Messi, Neymar Jr and Kylian Mbappe in their ranks.

“I think that PSG is the team to beat right now because of the sporting project they have going on here and all the players that have come here. Now we have to prove ourselves, you don’t win with the badge or the name alone, you have to earn it. We have good players and a good team but now we have to perform on the pitch. We have a good work ethic and we are going to go for all the titles we can win,” Ramos told PSG’s official channel.

“PSG is a big team, it doesn’t have a really long history but it has a unique sporting project and all the players want to come to PSG.”

Ramos was a part of the Real Madrid squad which won the Champion League four times. He is also mighty impressed with the new club’s determination to win titles and add to their prestigious trophy cabinet.

The Spaniard, who has not been a regular for PSG, scored his first goal for the club against Reims on matchday 22. It was his only fourth appearance for the club across competitions.

Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly was preferred by Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) last summer. He was offered to join the record Ligue 1 champions before they signed his idol and defending-ace Ramos from La Liga giants Real Madrid. He was touted as the replacement for their veteran defender Thiago Silva who moved to Chelsea that season.

The Senegalese has been a part of the Napoli squad since 2014 and has played a crucial role to attract various clubs across Europe through his phenomenal defensive prowess. He, however, had chosen to stick with Napoli after the club showed faith in his ability and backed him.
