Kolkata Knight Riders have given themselves an outside chance to qualify for the IPL 2022 playoffs after their win over Mumbai Indians. KKR have played 12 matches so far, registering five wins and seven losses, with 10 points and a Net Run Rate of -0.057 in their kitty. It will, however, remain a tough scenario for them to qualify in the crunch race of the IPL 2022 playoff as they need to win their remaining matches in the lucrative tournament.
Batting first, top-order batters Venkatesh Iyer (43) and Nitish Rana (43) notched up brilliant individual knocks to guide KKR to 165/9 with Jasprit Bumrah starring with the ball. In return, the batter for MI, put on a poor show with only Ishan Kishan (51) putting up a valiant effort in the chase. KKR fast bowler Pat Cummins was on top of his bowling as he picked up three wickets.

KKR will have to win their next two matches against SRH and LSG respectively. It will be important for the Shreyas Iyer-led side to win the matches by a wide margin to remain in hunt for the IPL 2022 playoffs berth. However, there are some other results, which will remain in consideration for KKR to qualify for the playoffs which are as follows.
It will be important for the Kolkata franchise that the results of the following matches goes as noted to give them a chance to qualify for the IPL 2022 playoffs: RR beat DC, MI beat CSK, PBKS beat RCB, KKR beat SRH, DC beat PBKS, MI beat SRH, KKR beat LSG, GT beat RCB, CSK beat RR, MI beat DC, SRH beat PBKS. However, even if the matches pan out, as aforementioned then RCB and KKR will make it to the fourth place with NRR playing a key role to secure the qualification berth.
