Umran Malik has made a name for himself in the ongoing Indian Premier League. He is one of the emerging pace sensations in the country who has already impressed everyone with his pace. While he is already on the radar of many for his ability to bowl quickly on a constant basis, he made headlines recently once again with a 157 KPH delivery – the quickest ball of the season so far, beating his previous pace of 154 KPH as well.

However, the pace sensation is currently playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the cash-rich league. Malik was bowling the final over against Delhi Capitals where he bowled a full-length delivery wide of off to Rovman Powell on the fourth ball. While Powell smashed a boundary through extra cover and mid-off. the speedster achieved a feat on the ball. The speedometer showed that he bowled it at 157 KPH which is the fastest of the IPL 2022 as well.

Meanwhile, former India spinner Harbhajan Singh was impressed with his bowling and said that he would have taken Umran Malik in the Indian team if he was part of the selection panel as well. “He is my favourite. I want to see him in the Indian team. What a bowler he is. Name a pacer bowling at over 150 and not playing for the country. So I think this is a great thing. He will inspire many youngsters to take up this game, where has come from and what he is doing in the IPL. He has been unbelievable. I don’t know if he will be selected or not but if I was part of the selection committee, I would have given him a go ahead. Umran Malik should partner Jasprit Bumrah when India play in Australia,” Harbhajan Singh said to the reporters on the sidelines of a Dream Set Go event.
