In an exciting encounter, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will face Mumbai Indians (MI) in the match 18 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 on April 9 (Saturday) at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. After losing their first match to Punjab Kings (PBKS), RCB won the next two and will be looking to extend the winning run. MI, on the other hand, has endured a poor beginning to the season by losing all three matches they played.

RCB, lead by Faf du Plessis, lost to PBKS by five wickets in their high scoring opening match. The Bangalore side looked like a good all-round unit in the next two matches. The skipper himself, Dinesh Karthik and Virat Kohli holds the key in batting. Spinner Wanindu Hasaranga and pacer Harshal Patel have impressed this season and will look to continue their good form.

Rohit Sharma-led MI is looking for a turnaround after losing matches consecutively. So far, they have been up to par with the bat but lacked fire in bowling. MI will also want their captain to give them a solid start which they missed in the last two outings. Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma looked in fine touch in the middle order. ‘Baby AB’ Dewald Brevis has shown flashes of his capabilities against KKR and will look to build on that. MI’s bowling unit has been inconsistent and needs to step up if they are to win their first match of the season. The Mumbai side will be hoping for a good day at work for the bowling attack spearheaded by Jasprit Bumrah.
