Punjab Kings will host Lucknow Super Giants in the Indian Premier League 2022 clash at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune on Friday.
The match will be significant in nature as a win can help the sides to stay alive in the race to IPL 2022 playoffs. Punjab Kings redeemed their chance of staying alive in the tournament with a win over Chennai Super Kings in the last match while Lucknow Super Giants are currently seated fourth in the points table in the crunch race to the playoffs.
The Mayank Agarwal-led side will expect Jonny Bairstow to return to form with Liam Livingstone and Bhanuka Rajapaksa key to their top order. Their bowling department will be, meanwhile, led by Kagiso Rabada with Arshdeep Singh playing a major role at the death.
The Lucknow franchise will meanwhile bank on their captain KL Rahul and expect all-rounder Deepak Hooda, Krunal Pandya to chip in with cameo knocks. Marcus Stoinis and Jason Holder will be the key in middle-order while Dushmantha Chameera and Ravi Bishnoi will be their key bowlers.
