KL Rahul notched up a 61-ball century to guide LSG to 168/6 in the IPL 2022 clash against MI on Sunday.
KL Rahul (103 not out) played a captain’s knock and anchored the LSG innings to steer them to a challenging total of 168/6 in the IPL 2022 clash against MI at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on Sunday.
Asked to bat, LSG opener Quinton de Kock (10), was sent packing early by premier India fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah in the fourth over.

However, Rahul went about his innings cautiously and was well supported by the incoming batter Manish Pandey who scored 22 runs off as many deliveries with one hit over the fence. The duo were involved in a 57-run stand for the second wicket.
Later, it was a one-man-show for Rahul, as he continued to glide through his controlled innings while losing wickets from the other end.
Incoming batters Marcus Stoinis (0), Krunal Pandya (1), Deepak Hooda (10), Ayush Badoni (14), Jason Holder (0 not out) looked lacklustre with their batting performances as it looked like Rahul was batting on a completely different surface.
It was, incidentally, his second consecutive century against Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2022. He had earlier notched up the identical unbeaten score at the Brabourne Stadium on April 16.
His knock on Sunday, which kept his side in the game, was laced with 12 boundaries and four hits over the top.
Mumbai Indians vice-captain Kieron Pollard returned figures of 2/8 while Australian Riley Meredith scalped two wickets for 40 runs.
Daniel Sams and Jasprit Bumrah, meanwhile, picked up a wicket each.
