Dinesh Karthik, who has been in terrific form for RCB, admitted that he is hungry for a Team India comeback ahead of the 2022 T20 World Cup.
Veteran India wicket keeper-batter Dinesh Karthik has been the most valuable signing for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. It almost looks like the former Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) captain continues to age like a fine wine at the age of 36 and has been imbibed with a rejuvenated spirit to finish the games for his franchise.
Karthik has notched up the scores of an unbeaten 66, 34, unbeaten 7, 44 not out and 14 not out in his last five innings for RCB while playing the role of a finisher to make a statement. He admitted that he is eager to make a comeback for Team India after making his last international appearance in an ODI match against New Zealand in July 2019.
“But I must admit that I have a bigger goal. I have been working really hard. I have been trying to do everything to be a part of the Indian team,” Karthik said at the post-match interview.

Karthik has looked calm and composed under pressure for RCB in this season. He highlighted that his batting tactics depends from bowler to bowler but his calmness has been derived from prior preparations for the match.
“Depends on the bowler, whoever is bowling well. I respected Kuldeep as he was bowling well. When you are batting at the death, you try and get under the ball more while hitting. You make me sound like a serial killer (laughs when asked as to how was he so calm and hit them so hard at the same time).
“I must admit positions and calmness comes from preparations. Apart from that staying in the moment sounds cliched but it works. He (Shahbaz) is a very special player, I am very sure he is going to do special things. He can hit a ball a long long way. And he backs himself which I like about him,” the veteran.
