Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Delhi Capitals (DC) will play against each other in an IPL 2022 match on Saturday (April 16) at 7.30 PM IST. DC vs RCB will be the 27th match of IPL 2022, taking place at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

RCB lost their last game to the defending champions Chennai Super Kings in the previous game and they missed their pacer Harshal Patel as he plays a key role for his side. RCB skipper Faf du Plessis hopes the right-arm seamer returns to the playing eleven soon. However, they have done well before their last game. And, due to the absence of Patel, RCB were not able to control the dangerous duo of Shivam Dube and Robin Uthappa, who helped CSK post a massive 216 on the board.

Known for his variations and death bowling skills, Harshal is a key player in the RCB team and Du Plessis admitted that they missed him after he left the bio-bubble on Sunday following the death of his sister. The veteran, who had taken 32 wickets in the 2021 edition, has emerged as one of the best T20 bowlers with his variations, including off-cutters and slower ones, bowled with variable arm speed as well.

So far, Harshal has picked up six wickets from four games at an economy of just 5.50 this season. Among others, the pace duo of Mohammad Siraj and Akash Deep has been doing well, while Wanindu Hasaranga picked up two wickets but gave away 35 in three overs in the last match. The spin duo of Glenn Maxwell and Shahbaz too failed to do well and skipper Du Plessis will expect a better performance from his bowlers on Saturday as well.

In batting, Faf du Plessis and young left-hander Anuj Rawat has given the team good starts, while Dinesh Karthik has played the role of the finisher quite well. Shahbaz Ahmed too was impressive but Virat Kohli has been on and off with the bat.

Delhi Capitals, on the other hand, are heading into the match after a huge 44-run win over Kolkata Knight Riders. With two back-to-back fifties, opener Prithvi Shaw has been in stunning form, while seasoned Australian opener David Warner has done well to set DC’s win over KKR. Captain Rishabh Pant too has been contributing well. On the bowling front, spinner Kuldeep Yadav has emerged as their top bowler with 10 wickets so far as well, while pacer Khaleel Ahmed has also taken seven wickets in three games so far.

However, Delhi Capitals have plenty of bowling all-rounders such as Axar Patel, Shardul Thakur and Lalit Yadav to bank on. Meanwhile, Rovman Powell is expected to contribute well. With four out of five matches ending in a win for the team while chasing, the toss could also be a key role at the Wankhade stadium as well.
