Fans urged the BCCI to 'Cancel IPL' after three members from the Delhi Capitals camp tested positive for Covid-19.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 has come under the scanner after three positive cases of Covid-19 have been reported from the Delhi Capitals bio-bubble.
Delhi Capitals physio Partick Farhat was the first named member from the camp to test positive for Covid-19. The toll increased on Monday to three as an unnamed overseas player and a staff masseur tested positive for Covid-19.
The unfortunate development has derailed the preparations for Delhi Capitals next two matches in Pune — against Punjab Kings on April 20 and Rajasthan Royals on April 22 — as the franchise has been put under quarantine.
However, there is no update on change of schedule for the upcoming matches for Delhi Capitals, with sources hinting that it will go on as per schedule amid the crisis-hit situation.
“We have not heard of any change in the programme and the situation in the Delhi camp is manageable right now,” multiple sources told Cricbuzz.

The governing body of the lucrative tournament — Board of Control For Cricket in India — had made strict rules to avoid the Covid-19 situation inside the IPL 2022 bio bubble of the respective franchises.
The participants — players, support staff, coaches, umpires, commentators, broadcast crew and others — underwent quarantine rules before heading into the bio-secure environment. Separate arrangements have been made for the participants in case they test positive for Covid-19 during the phase of IPL 2022.
The IPL rules underlines that any person testing positive in the tournament bubble would need to be isolated for a minimum of seven days. To re-enter the bubble, the person would need to return consecutive negative RT-PCR tests taken 24 hours apart.
The rule also mentions that the team can take the field with a minimum of 12 players, including seven Indians and one substitute. In the scenario where 12 players are not available then the IPL would take the final call, which would be binding, a report in espncricinfo said.
