This season’s race for the top four in the EPL is very competitive. Newcastle United, Manchester United, and Liverpool are locked in a three-horse race to secure the third and fourth positions in the EPL table. Arsenal and Manchester City have already secured their spot in next season’s Champions League. But, the three teams behind them have work to do.

The big question is – will Man United remain in the top four till the end of the season? This is a tough question, especially if United’s recent form is anything to go by. The team has lost matches they were expected to win in a manner to suggest they have run out of steam. EPL betting fans find it tough to predict United matches because they have become unpredictable. If you wager on the EPL from India, consider using the parimatch bonus code India to make your wagering more interesting. In the meantime, here is what United has to do to finish in the third or fourth place.

Current Position

Eric Ten Hag’s team is currently in the fourth spot with 66 points same as Newcastle United, who are third thanks to their superior goal difference. Liverpool is breathing down United’s and Newcastle’s necks as the race for the EPL top four heats up.

Nevertheless, United is still in a strong position ahead of the remaining fixtures against Bournemouth, Chelsea, and Fulham. This means the maximum number of points they can get this season is 75.

What’s The Verdict?

Suppose Liverpool wins all their remaining matches (2); in that case, they will reach 71 points. Therefore, United need to win at least two of their remaining three matches to take them to 72 points and guarantee a Champions League spot.

Brighton is also in the chase but would have to win all (4 out of 4) of the remaining fixtures to have a chance. Based on the remaining fixtures, Manchester United could aim to finish third and head on a high note into the summer.

Newcastle have tricky fixtures as they host high-flying Brighton and have to travel to Stamford Bridge before the end of the season. It remains to be seen whether Edie Howe’s men have the mentality to navigate the tough days ahead.

Liverpool doesn’t have much to do, but their match against Aston Villa, who have been in great form, could stand in the way of their ambitions.

It’s All in United’s Hands

Eric Ten Hag has reiterated times without number that the race for the EPL top four is in United’s hands. If The Red Devils can keep their heads down and focus on their performances, they have enough arsenal in their team to win the remaining three matches. They are also in luck since two of the three matches are at home, where they have been in excellent form! Surely, it is in United’s hands, right?
