Four wins on the bounce in their last four qualifiers helped the South American nation book a ticket to Qatar.
Uruguay and South Korea will kick-start their FIFA World Cup campaign when they take on each other at the Education City Stadium on Thursday. Both nations are placed in a difficult Group H which also has Portugal and Ghana. Hence they will have to be at the top of their game throughout the group stage to have any chance of qualifying out of the group. They both had their ups and downs over the last year but will enter this tournament on the back of registering a few positive results.

There are a few injuries both sides have to deal with ahead of this contest. Uruguay will be sweating over the fitness situation of their star defender Ronald Araujo. The Barcelona centre-back is expected to play some part in the World Cup, however, it is unlikely he might be risked in the opener on Thursday. Besides, it will be interesting to see who among Sergio Rochet and Fernando Muslera start in the goal for them. For South Korea, the main concern will be about the injury situation of Son Heung-min. It remains to be seen whether the Spurs attacker can play any part in his team’s campaign. However, it is unlikely he will be risked – atleast from the start – on Thursday.
