Nottingham Forest on the other hand, secured fourth spot in the Championship standings, before getting the better of Sheffield United and Huddersfield to earn promotion to the English Premier League.

And then, five days later, Union Berlin will face Hertha Berlin in their 2022-23 Bundesliga opener.
Nottingham Forest have endured a mixed pre-season so far, recording three wins, one defeat and one draw in their opening five friendlies. Forest will also take on Notts County and Valencia before beginning their Premier League season at Newcastle United on August 6. Last Wednesday, against Hertha, Lyle Taylor netted a a brace to take the lead. Although Hertha pulled one back, a late own goal helped the English club secure the win.

Timo Baumgartl is still recovering from cancer. Therefore, Paul Jaeckel would continue to play alongside Robin Knoche and Dominique Heintz in the three-man defence. Khedira, Pantovic and Haraguchi could form the three-man midfield with Niko Giesselmann and Christopher Trimmel occupying the flanks.
