The visitors earned promotion to the Italian top flight via the 2022-23 Serie B playoffs and their primary goal would be to finish outside the bottom three at the end of this league season. Cagliari, on the other hand, defeated Palermo in their first competitive outing of the new season last week, thanks to two extra-time goals from Alberto Dossena and Alessandro Di Pardo. The victory helped Claudio Ranieri’s side to progress to the second round of the cup competition. prior to that, Islanders had an unbeaten pre-season, recording four wins and a draw from five friendlies. Meanwhile, Sardinians have lost just one of their last eight league matches against Torino, winning on both of their two most recent visits to Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino.
