Liverpool have been quite busy in the recently-closed transfer window. The main focus for the Reds have been in midfield and they have made quality additions in that department. Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, Wataru Endo and Ryan Gravenberch joined them this summer. It has got their supporters massively excited. However, it is important to note that at one point, their fans were extremely worried following the multiple departures from Anfield.

Most of the outgoings were in midfield, weakening the team massively in that department. However, the Reds have invested wisely to fill the big hole in the centre of the pitch by getting some of best in those positions. Each of those players bring their own attributes to the team and will surely strengthen the side going forward. One of the last names to arrive at the club is Ryan Gravenberch from Bayern Munich. The skilful Dutch midfielder is capable of playing in multiple positions and can be a real handful for the opposition defenders.

Diogo Jota on Ryan Gravenberch

Liverpool’s Portuguese forward Diogo Jota spoke about what to expect from the new signing. When asked about how the Dutchman is settling in, Jota told Liverpoolfc.com, “I think great. Obviously he has two very close friends, the Dutch players, and they are three now, so they can help each other. Obviously I’ve not been in and just had a couple of sessions with him, but you can see already the quality he brings [and] has on his feet. I think he will be one more to help us going forward.”

Liverpool have made an impressive start to the new season. Following the opening weekend draw at Chelsea, the Reds have won the next three games to be sitting in a comfortable position in the Premier League table. “It was not perfect, obviously we didn’t win all the games, but I think we must be happy because we changed a lot, we changed our approaches and we still got 10 out of 12 [points], and we had games with difficult circumstances with the red card. So I think it’s a positive start and hopefully we can go from here,” he explained.

Jota was one of those players who enjoyed a memorable international break with their respective countries. The Liverpool forward found the back of the net twice for Portugal against Luxembourg during a 9-0 victory in a Euro 2024 qualifier. He also registered an assist in that game. “Always nice to score and getting back in Portugal and scoring. Obviously I didn’t play in the World Cup, so it felt good. Back to the Premier League now, changed the ship, like you used to say, and go again,” he added.
