Roma will be looking to continue with their winning start in Serie A when they face newly-promoted side Cremonese in the second-round fixtures on Monday. Jose Mourinho’s side had to dig deep to get past Salernitana in their opener last weekend. It wasn’t the prettiest of displays, nonetheless, a winning start to the new league season will be a welcome boost for Roma. They will be keen to build on that three points when they return to Stadio Olimpico for the first home game of the season.

It was a memorable first season for Mourinho with Roma last time out, as the Italian club finished sixth in the Serie A table before going all the way to lift the Europa Conference League trophy. They had a good pre-season and carried that form into the new campaign, beating Salernitana 1-0 in their opening match last weekend. On the other hand, Cremonese finished second in Serie B last campaign to seal a return to the Italian top flight. In their league opener, they put up an impressive fight against Fiorentina before going down to an injury time goal in a 3-2 defeat.

Jose Mourinho has made a few eye-catching signings in the summer transfer window and some of those players are expected to keep hold of their places in the Starting XI this weekend. New arrival Paulo Dybala is set to retain his role on the right side of a front-three alongside Nicolo Zaniolo and Tammy Abraham. This front three can cause major problems for any side in the division.
Other new recruits Georginio Wijnaldum and Nemanja Matic could also play some part in the match, while there are question marks over the participation of Nicola Zalewski. On the other hand, Lazio loanee Gonzalo Escalante will miss the clash for Cremonese following his red card from last weekend. Besides, there are also question marks over the fitness of Emanuele Valeri and Michele Castagnetti.
