AS Roma will host Atalanta in a Serie A fixture at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday evening. The hosts are heading into the match on the back of a dominant 3-0 win over HJK Helsinki in a Europa League fixture in the midweek. Atalanta, meanwhile, were held to a 1-1 draw by Cremonese in a Serie A match last weekend. Roma are currently occupying fifth position in the Italian top division with 13 points from six games. Roma’s last Serie A outing was against Empoli (2-1) on Monday. Jose Mourinho’s side secured all three points at Stadio Carlo Castellani, courtesy of goals from Paulo Dybala and Tammy Abraham. It was the Little Cubs’ fourth league win of the campaign. After that, the Yellow and Reds put three goals past HJK without reply, in a Group C match of the Europa League. Dybala, Lorenzo Pellegrini and Andrea Belotti netted in the second half to secure the win.
Atalanta, on the other hand, are unbeaten in the season so far. The Black and Blues have registered four wins and two draws in six league games. Gian Piero Gasperini’s side shared the spoils against Cremonese last weekend, after Merih Demiral’s opener was canceled out by Emanuele Valeri. Prior to that, The Goddess beat Monza 2-0 courtesy of Rasmus Hojland’s opener and Marion Barbosa’s own goal. Atalanta have won their last three away games without conceding a single goal.

Roma players Nicola Zalewski, Marash Kumbulla, Georginio Wijnaldum and Stephan El Shaarawy are sidelined with injuries. Abraham is likely to lead the line with Dybala and Zaniolo in support. Matic and Pellegrini could sit in front of the back-three, with Spinazzola and Karsdrop occupying the flanks. As for Atalanta, Jeremie Boga, Berat Djimsiti, Duvan Zapata and Davide Zappacosta are occupying the medical room, while Jose Luis Palomino is suspended for Sunday’s match.
