Real Betis didn’t have a great pre-season, recording just one win from their six friendlies. Their only victory came up against Fiorentina last Sunday, courtesy of goals from Juanmi, Borja Iglesias and Juan Miranda. Manuel Pellegrini’s side have been relatively quiet in the summer market, with only Willian Jose, Luiz Henrique and Luiz Felipe arriving to boost the squad for the new campaign. The Green and Whites enjoyed their best league campaign last term since 2004-05, and would be hoping to challenge for a Champions League spot this time around.Â

Elche, on the other hand, participated in six pre-season friendlies, registering three wins and three defeats. In their recent outing against La Nucia, Ezequiel Ponce netted a brace while Helibelton Palacios scored one goal to secure the win. Elche have been pretty active in the transfer market, making five signings in the form of Ponce, Roger Marti, Lautaro Blanco and Carlos Clerc, while Pol Lirola has arrived on loan from Marseille. Â
Real Betis defender Martin Montoya is sidelined with an Achilles injury, while the rest of the squad is fit and ready to go. Pellegrini is likely to opt for a 4-2-3-1 formation with Willian Jose leading the line. Luiz Felipe could make his competitive debut at the heart of the defence. As for Elche, Gonzalo Verdu and Jony Alamo are unavailable. Lucas Boye and Pere Milla could form the attacking duo with Morente and Mascarell occupying the flanks.
Real Betis probable starting lineup: Silva; Sabalay, Felipe, Pezzella, Miranda, Juanmi, Akouokou, Carvalho, Canales, Rodri, Willian JoseÂ
Elche probable starting lineup: Badia; Palacios, Gonzalez, guti, Mojica, Morente, Gumbau, Fidel, Mascarell, Mila, Boye
The La Liga fixture between Real Betis vs Elche will take place at Benito Villamarin on Tuesday at 1:00 am IST.
