The Hatters are heading into the match on the back of a comprehensive 2-0 win away to Rotherham United on Saturday, while the hosts played out a goalless draw against Burnley.
Luton Town will be looking to extend their unbeaten run to 11 games in the EFL Championship when they travel to Madejski Stadium on Wednesday night to take on Reading. The Hatters are heading into the match on the back of a comprehensive 2-0 win away to Rotherham United on Saturday, while the hosts played out a goalless draw against an already-promoted Burnley side. Reading are currently languishing at the 22nd spot in the English second tier standings, having collected just 42 points from as many games, level on points with Cardiff City, who remain in the safe zone(21st position), only on goal-difference. The visitors, meanwhile are sitting at the third position, with 74 points to their name, eight adrift of the top two. Meanwhile, the reverse fixture in November last year at Kenilworth Road ended in a goalless draw.

Luton recorded their 20th league-win of the season against Rotherham on Saturday thanks to two unanswered goals from Carlton Morris and Cauley Woodrow. The result extended their unbeaten run to ten matches in the EFL Championship, while winning seven games in that period. Holding a nine-point lead over fifth-placed Millwall, the Hatters have nearly secured a home second leg in the playoff semi-finals, something which may prove to be the difference when the stakes are high. Rob Edwards’ side also possess the second-best away record in the division, having pocketed 39 points from a possible 63 on the road this season.
Reading, on the other hand, have the eighth-best home-record in the second tier this term, having collected 36 points from 21 matches in front of their own supporters so far. However, the Royals are winless in their last nine outings, while that includes three consecutive draws at Madejski Stadium. The poor run of form resulted in the sacking of Paul Ince, and Noel Hunt is now the interim boss. Reading have recorded just 13 league-wins this season a and their last success came against fellow relegation-battlers Blackpool (3-1) back in February. On a positive note, Reading have not conceded more than twice in a single match since March 4.
Reading probable starting lineup: Lumley, Yiadom, Holmes, Sarr, Guinness-Walker, Azeez, Hendrick, Casadei, Fornah, Joao, Ehibhatiomhan
Luton Town probable starting lineup: Horvath, Burke, Bradley, Lockyer, Drameh, Nakamba, Mpanzu, Bell, Campbell, Morris, Woodrow
