Middlesbrough secured all three points against Norwich thanks to Cameron Archer’s brace and one goal each from Aaron Ramsey, Hayden Hackney and Chuba Akpom. The result ended Boro’s three-game winless streak and It was their 21st league-win of the season. Although Middlesbrough’s recent run of one win in four matches seem to have ruined their chances of finishing inside the top two, but Michael Carrick’s side will be fancied to win the playoffs if they qualify. The Riverside Stadium has been a fortress for Boro this term, with the hosts only losing once on home soil since the middle of October, while collecting 42 points from a possible 63 in front of their own supporters. Carrick’s side defeated Hull 3-1 in the reverse fixture at MKM Stadium in November last year.
The Tigers, on the other hand, are undefeated in their last five outings, while four of those matches have been draws. Hull have won 13 second tier games this season and their latest success came against Millwall courtesy of Adama Traore’s lone goal 20 minutes from time. Meanwhile, the Tigers have been pretty solid at the back, having kept three clean sheets from their last four games. Hull have won only five of their 21 league-matches on the road this season.
Middlesbrough probable starting lineup: Steffen, Smith, McNair, Lenihan, Giles, Howson, Hackney, Jones, Akpom, Mowatt, Archer
Hull City probable starting lineup: Darlow, Coyle, McLoughlin, Greaves, Elder, Sayyadmanesh, Seri, Slater, Vaughan, Tufan, Traore
