Since the resumption of Championship after the World cup break, Norwich have been struggling, having lost two of their three games this month. After edging past Swansea City 1-0 on December 10, the Canaries have lost back-to-back matches against Blackburn (2-0) and Luton (2-1). Last time out, Teemu Pukki’s 69th-minute strike canceled out Alan Campbell’s opener on the hour-mark, but the Hatters managed to snatch all three points courtesy of Cauley Woodrow’s 90th-minute winner.
Reading, on the other hand, defeated the Swans on Tuesday, courtesy of goals from Andy Carroll and Tom Ince. It was Paul Ince’s side’s third win in their last four matches. Meanwhile, Reading have now pocketed 25 points from their last 12 fixtures at the Select Car Leasing Stadium. However, the Royals have lost eight of their 12 games away from home and hence, Ince would be hoping to improve his side’s away record and maintain their chances of earning a playoff spot.
Norwich midfielder Arron Ramsey and Todd Cantwell are sidelined with injuries, while Isaac Hayden might replace Liam Gibbs in the engine room. Pukki will continue to lead the line, with Sargent and Hernandez in support. As for Reading Carroll, who scored in the last game, could be the target-man up front, with the likes of Ince and Meite playing around him.
Norwich City probable starting lineup: Gunn, Aarons, Hanley, Gibson, Giannoulis, Sara, Hayden, McLean, Hernandez, Pukki, Sargent
Reading probable starting lineup: Lumley, Yiadom, Holmes, Sarr, Hoilett, Hendrick, Loum, McIntyre, Ince, Meite, Carroll
