Birmingham play host to Hull City in an EFL championship fixture at At Andrew’s on Friday night. The hosts are heading into the match on the back of a disappointing 3-0 defeat to leaders Burnley on Tuesday, while Hull city played out a goalless draw against Blackpool, a day earlier. The Blues are sitting at the 15th spot in the English second tier standings, having collected 32 points from 24 games. Hull City, meanwhile, are languishing at the 21st position, having pocketed just two points less than John Eustace’s side.

Prior to the game against Burnley, Birmingham had lost just one of their seven matches. However, Eustace’s side were clearly outclassed by the Hammers on Tuesday, courtesy of goals from Anass Zaroury, Connor Roberts and Nathan Tella. The Blues failed to register even a single shot on target. Nevertheless, it is now up to the 43-year-old tactician to get his team back on track.

Hull city, on the other hand, won just one of their last eight games in the second tier. However, the Tigers looked far more united under new boss Liam Rosenior than they have previously this season, having managed to record three successive draws and managing to stay out of the relegation zone. Last time out, Hull City came from behind to earn a point against Blackpool on Monday courtesy of Oscar Estupinan’s 77th-minute equaliser. Meanwhile, the Tigers have collected 11 points from their last five league-games.

Probable Lineups

Birmingham forward Scott Hogan, who is returning after illness, is expected to feature on Friday. Meanwhile, midfielder Gary Gardner is also pushing to be involved after a spell on the sidelines. As for Hull City, head coach Rosenior is unlikely to make too many changes to the team that started against Blackpool. Estupinan will continue to lead the line, with Sinik, Tufan and Slater in support.

Birmingham City probable starting lineup: Ruddy, Sanderson, Roberts, Trusty, Colin, Bacuna, Bielik, Mejbri, Longelo, Deeney, Chong

Hull City probable starting lineup: Ingram, Coyle, Jones, McLaughlin, Greaves, Woods, Seri, Sinil, Tufan, Slater, Estupinan
