Nice shared the spoils against Nantes courtesy of Terem Moffi’s fifth-minute opener and Youssouf Ndayishimiye strike, 18 minutes from time. The result extended their unbeaten run to 10 games across all competitions. The impressive run of form, that includes six league-wins, has pushed Nice into the seventh spot in the French top flight standings, with 43 points to their name from 27 games, nine adrift of the top-four. Sheriff Tiraspol, on the other hand, returned to league action for the first time in four months on Monday, securing three points against CSF Balti, thanks to Mouhamed Diop’s lone goal six minutes into the second half. The reigning champions of Moldova have won their nations’ top flight title 20 times in the last 22 seasons.
Nice defender Dante will be suspended for Thursday’s game, while attacker Nicolas Pep is struggling with a knee issue, and right-back Antoine Mendy is sidelined with an ankle injury. Former Arsenal-man Aaron Ramsey could feature against Sheriff having regained his fitness and come off the bench on Sunday. Laborde and Moffi might form the attacking-duo. As for Sheriff, defender Patrick Kpozo will be suspended for the game against the Eaglets.
