On Tuesday night, Inter and Porto played out an entertaining 0-0 draw at Estadio Dragao in the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie. Both sides created a combined total of 32 goal-scoring chances, with 12 of them on target. Nevertheless Romelu Lukaku’s lone goal in the first leg at San Siro proved to be the difference in the tie and Nerazzuri progressed to the last eight stage of Europe’s top tier tournament, where they will take on Benfica. Prior to that, Simone Inzaghi’s side lost to Spezia 2-1 in the Serie A, despite that fact that Lukaku found the back of the net.
Juventus, on the other hand, are heading into the match on the back of a three-game winning streak in all competitions. After a 1-0 win over Freiburg in the first leg of their Europa League last-16 tie in Turin on March 9, Bianconeri defated Sampdoria 4-2 in the Italian top flight, last Sunday. And then, on Thursday, Massimiliano Allegri’s side defeated Freiburg 2-0 in the second leg of their European tie, courtesy of Dusan Vlahovic’s opening goal from the penalty spot on the stroke of half-time and Federico Chiesa’s 95th-minute effort. Meanwhile, Sunday’s fixture will be the 180th Serie A Derby D’Italia. Although Juve secured a 2-0 win in the reverse fixture in November, Inter have triumphed in three of their last five encounters against Bianconeri, including an Italian Super Cup victory.
