Danish side Midtjylland will welcome Sporting in the second leg of the playoffs match of the UEFA Europa League 2022/23. First leg was played at Estádio José Alvalade, Lisbon, Portugal on 16th February 2023 and the match ended in a 1-1 draw, thanks to a last minute goal by Sebastian Coates to level the game. The second leg will be played at MCH Arena, Herning, Denmark on 23rd February 2023.
Sporting are currently fourth in the league and ten points away from UEFA Champions League qualification. Sporting are coming off a 3-2 win in the league and have been unbeated in their last four away games. Even though Sporting dominated Midtjylland in the first leg, the Danish side were the first to score. Sporting are still the favourites in this tie as they have the strength to beat Midtjylland. They will need to beat Midtjylland in order to progress to the next knockout round of UEFA Europa League.
Midtjylland are in a very good form as they are unbeaten in their last 7 games.
