Djurgardens are heading into the decider off the back of a Swedish Cup win over Malmo on Sunday afternoon. The Blue Stripes twice came from behind to level the score, courtesy of Amias Anderson’s 86th-minute effort and a dramatic 120th-minute strike from Hampus Findell, before prevailing 5-3 on penalties against Malmo. It was a much needed positive result for Djurgardens, who have a tough task in their hands to overturn a two-goal deficit in Sweden on Thursday. Meanwhile, on a positive note, the Iron Stoves have won their last three games on home turf, scoring an impressive ten goals and conceding just four.
Lech Poznan, on the other hand, are certainly in the driving seat of this round of 16 tie. After the convincing victory against the Swedish club, Poznan traveled to Stadion Miejski for a Polish top flight fixture and played out a 1-1 draw, thanks to Nika Kvekveskiri’s 93rd-minute equaliser. As of now, Kolejorz are sitting at the third spot in the Ekstraklasa standings, having collected 40 points from 24 games, 18 adrift of leaders Raków Częstochowa.
Edvardsen is likely led the line for Djurgardens IF, with Gustav Wikheim and Asoro in support. Finndell, who scored off the bench in the last outing, is pushing for a place in the starting eleven. As for Lech Poznan, John van den Brom is unlikely to make too many changes to the side that got the job done in Poland last Thursday. Mikael Ishak, who has five Conference League goals to his name, could be the target-man up front.
Djurgardens IF Probable line-up: Zetterstrom, Johansson, Moros, Danielson, Bengtsson, Eriksson, Sabovic, Berg, Asoro, Edvardsen, Wikheim
Lech Poznan Probable line-up: Bednarek, Pereira, Dagerstal, Milic, Rebocho, Karlstrom, Murawski, Skoras, Sousa, Szymczak, Ishak
