New York City FC will host New England Revolution in a Major League Soccer (MLS) fixture at the Yankee Stadium on Saturday. Both sides are heading into the tie on the back of identical draws in their respective league fixtures last weekend. NYCFC were held to a 2-2 draw by Atlanta United , while the visitors had to share the spoils against FC Cincinnati. New York City occupy fourth spot in the Eastern Conference table with 27 points from 18 games, while New England are three places below them with 25 points.

Last Sunday, NYCFC found the back of the net twice courtesy of a brace from Valentin Castellanos. Meanwhile, goals from Josef Martinez and Dom Dwyer helped Atlanta United share the points. It was the Pigeons’ second consecutive draw, and they are now winless in their last five games across all competitions. Although Nick Cushing’s side have shown tons of creativity, they have been unable to finish off games. The backline has been a bit shaky, conceding in the final few minutes in two of their last three encounters.

New England, on the other hand, just like their Saturday’s opponents, netted twice at the Gillette Stadium through Dylan Borrero and Gustavo Bou. However, an own goal from Henry Kessier and Brenner’s 73rd-minute strike helped FC Cincinnati share the spoils. It was the Revs’ second consecutive draw. Even though Bruce Arena’s side are in the playoff spot, they could have been in much better position had they not dropped points, having shared the spoils in four of their last six games.
