Middlesbrough will host Swansea City in an EFL Championship match at Riverside stadium on Saturday evening. Both sides are heading into the match on the back of defeats in their last outings. The hosts suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to Reading last weekend, while Swansea were beaten 2-0 by Luton Town on the same day. Middlesbrough haven’t had a great start to their league season, not registering a single victory in their opening five games, to be sitting at the 23rd spot with just Coventry behind them. Swansea, meanwhile, are three places above the Boro, having recorded one win and two draws.

Middlesbrough suffered their second league defeat of the campaign against Reading last Saturday. Tyrese Fornah’s lone strike was enough to separate the two sides at Madejski stadium. Prior to that, Chris Wilder’s side had recorded two consecutive 2-2 draws against Sheffield United and Stoke City. Swansea, on the other hand, secured their only league win so far against Blackpool on August 13, courtesy of Olivier Nitcham’s lone strike. And then, the Swans played out a 2-2 draw against Millwall before losing to Luton Town.
