Manchester United have had an explosive end to the transfer window by making several additions to the squad in the deadline day. With goalkeeper Altay Bayindir’s arrival being confirmed, the club also completed couple of important loan deals. Sergio Reguilon arrived from Tottenham Hotspur on loan and so did Sofyan Amrabat from Fiorentina. Besides, former United defender Jonny Evans has rejoined the club by signing a one-year contract.

The latest additions have undoubtedly gotten the Manchester United supporters excited. The new four additions follow the three earlier signings made by the club in this window. Mason Mount arrived from Chelsea, Andre Onana was signed from Inter Milan and Rasmus Hojlund was acquired from Atalanta. These recruitments make Manchester United squad high on quality and depth.

Erik ten Hag on Sergio Reguilon

Among the new arrivals, Sergio Reguilon’s move was kind of forced due to the injuries suffered by other left-backs Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia. Manager Erik ten Hag is happy with how the club filled the void which was created by the sudden injury concerns. Speaking about the new signing, ten Hag, quoted by his club’s website, said in his press conference, that Reguilon is an experienced player, having played for big clubs.

“He is a very experienced player, a player for big clubs, a player that’s played already a lot of games in La Liga, in the Premier League. So, he has a very good background, we have seen he can play very intense football, so we are happy. While we had a problem with Luke Shaw injured, Ty[rell] Malacia injured, they are for [the] long term out, so I think we responded very well on that emergency situation,” the manager added.

Will Rasmus Hojlund be available for Arsenal clash?

Ten Hag confirmed that new signing Rasmus Hojlund will be in the squad to face Arsenal at the weekend. When asked whether Hojlund be available to make his debut, the manager replied, “Yes. He had a good training week, tomorrow we have a final training but he’s doing well, he’s responding well. So, yeah, he’ll be available for Sunday’s game.” Speaking about Bayindir’s availability, he replied, “He will be in the squad as well, Altay. So, [we’re] happy we have the keeper group. It’s fully there, we’ve covered every position, so I think we have a very good keeper group with the arrival of Altay.”

Erik ten Hag then spoke about the pulsating Premier League battle against Arsenal on Sunday. “It’s one of the biggest games in the Premier League. We’re really looking forward to that fight. They’re always interesting games, intense games, I think it’s two teams who really play offensive football with the right intentions I would say. The audience is always the big winner of that game, so we’re really looking forward to that game,” he explained.
