Getafe have recorded two wins, two draws and five defeats from nine La Liga games this season. The Deep Blue Ones registered both their victories in September, against Real Sociedad and Osasuna. However, Quique Sanchez Flores’ side are winless in their last three games, losing to Real Valladolid (3-2) and Real Madrid (1-0), before sharing the spoils against Rayo. Getafe have only lost once against Athletic in the league since January 2016.
Athletic Bilbao, on the other hand, have made a solid start to the 2022-23 La Liga season, having won five of their nine league games thus far. The Basque outfit are just two points away from third-placed Atletico, against whom they lost last Saturday. Antonine Griezmann’s lone goal separated the two sides at San Mames Barria. It was Athletic’s first defeat since the start of September, and Ernesto Valverde’s side will be looking to bounce back on Tuesday.
