Last weekend’s 3-1 defeat at home to RB Leipzig allowed Borussia Dortmund to overtake the Bavarians into the summit of the German top flight standings. As of now, the visitors are occupying second spot in the table, with 68 points to their name from 33 games, just two adrift of BVB. The hosts meanwhile, are sitting at the tenth position in the standings, with 42 points to their name.

Bayern suffered only their fifth league-defeat of the season against Leipzig last time out, despite taking the lead through Serge Gnabry’s 25th-minute effort. The result proved to be a huge blow to their title-hopes as Dortmund thrashed Augsburg 3-0 to climb to the summit of the table.
