Faroe Islands will be keen to bounce back from their opening match defeat when they host Luxembourg at the 2022 UEFA Nations League. Tuesday’s match, which will happen at Tórsvøllur, will be the second match of the tournament for both sides. Faroe Islands suffered a 4-0 humbling at Turkey, while Luxembourg registered a 2-0 victory over Lithuania. The hosts on Tuesday night spent the first two editions of the competition in League D. They are in League C for the first time after gaining promotion to the third tier of the tournament.
However, Faroe Islands’ opener in the League C encounter did not get off to a great start after suffering a heavy 4-0 defeat at Turkey. The Turkish side dominated the game from the word go and hardly gave their opponents any chance of getting something from the match. After going 1-0 up at half-time, the hosts added three more goals in the second half to seal a comfortable victory, as the visitors failed to hit the target even once during the game. Faroe Islands will be hoping to get a positive score on Tuesday at home on the back of the disappointing result.

Both sides are not expected to make many changes for Tuesday’s encounter. Faroe Islands might make a few alterations to the team that started against Turkey with Jakup Andreasen set for a starting role following his substitute appearance in the last match. Besides, Patrik Johannesen could lead the line for them in this clash. On the other hand, Luxembourg might not make many changes to the team that defeated Lithuania. They could very well start with the same Starting XI, with Daniel Sinani looking to add to his tally.
