Everton are still waiting for their first Premier League win of the season. In their last match against the Reds, England number one Jordan Pickford had to make some heroic saves to keep a clean sheet and earn a point for Everton in the Merseyside derby. It was Frank Lampard’s side’s fourth consecutive Premier League draw, while their other two games ended in defeats. It has been 45 years since Everton last played out five consecutive draws in league action.
West Ham, on the other hand, have managed to register one league in the season so far and that came against Aston Villa, towards the end of last month. The Hammers suffered a 2-1 defeat at Chelsea in their last Premier League fixture on September 3. Meanwhile David Moyes’ side have managed to secure two wins from their opening two group matches of the Europa League. In their recent outing against Silkeborg, first half goals from Manuel Lanzini, Gianluca Scamacca and Craig Dawson helped the Hammers to earn three points.
