West Ham United are just one game away from ending their season on a high as they prepare for a mouth-watering European final. The London outfit has defied odds to reach the final of the UEFA Europa Conference League where Fiorentina will await them. Considering West Ham’s struggles in the Premier League this season, it is incredible to see them reach the final of a European competition. With a lot riding on this match, supporters can expect to see a closely-fought contest unfold before them on Wednesday night.

Fiorentina have been equally impressive in the Europa Conference League this season and are deserving of their place in the final. It will never be an easy test against an Italian side who are well drilled and have a solid defensive base. Speaking about Fiorentina, Jarrod Bowen, quoted by his club’s website, said in a press conference that they have analysed a lot about them.

“We’ve seen a lot of Fiorentina and done a lot of preparation on them and it’s a final and you don’t get to a final if you’re a bad team, so we respect them a lot. They’ve scored a lot of goals in this competition, so that’s one of their main threats, but this is a final and we’ll try to stop what they’re good at and exploit what we can in the game,” he elaborated.

Jarrod Bowen, who recently welcomed twins with his partner, spoke about his dream of scoring in the showpiece final on Wednesday night at the Eden Arena in Prague. “The twins are here now and I’d love to score a goal for them! Two would be nice, but I’ll take one and scoring on Wednesday night is definitely something I’ve thought about!” he added.

I’m pinching myself: Jarrod Bowen

Explaining his joy at reaching a European final, Bowen spoke about how much he wants to lift the trophy for the supporters. “It’s massive!. I’m pinching myself. I’ve been here three years and if you told me we’d be in a European final three years later, I’d have bitten your hand off!” he stated.

“Last year, we were so disappointed to lose in the semi-final, so that probably gave us that extra bit of motivation to do it this year. With the season that we’ve had, it makes it even more special for us. The fans are travelling out here in I don’t know how many numbers! Our fan base is incredible and we want to win it not just for us and our teammates, but mainly the fans.”

He further went on to heap praise on the supporters and how lucky he has been to be a part of this West Ham group. “For me, it feels like one big family. Since I’ve been here, the fans have welcomed me with open arms and I’ve been lucky that the group here has been so special over the past few years and we’ve had some great times, but winning this would top it off. For me, with the fan base we have and the family culture we’ve created, I think that’s one of the best things about this Club,” he added.
