The reverse fixture between these two sides was less than six months ago, which ended 2-1 in favour of Fulham, thanks to Aleksandar Mitrovic’s opener and an own goal by Lewis Dunk.
Two teams battling to qualify for Europe will squareoff in the Premier League on Saturday, as Brighton & Hove Albion play host to Fulham at the Falmer Stadium. The two sides are locked on 35 points in the English top flight standings, with the hosts occupying sixth spot, sitting one place above Fulham, who have played two games extra. Meanwhile Brighton are heading into the match on the back of a 1-1 draw away to Crystal Palace last Saturday, while the visitors got the better of Nottingham Forest 2-0, on the same day.

Brighton will definitely feel unlucky to not get three points at the Selhurst Park last week after Pervis Estupinan was denied his first goal for the Seagulls, after VAR incorrectly drew the wrong line to award an offside against the Ecuadorian. Although the Seagulls went on to break the deadlock through Solly March’s 63rd-minute effort, James Tomkins equalised for the Eagles, six minutes later. Roberto De Zerbi’s men had to settle for just a point despite recording 75% ball possession and 17 shots on goal. Nevertheless, the result helped Brighton to extend their unbeaten run to eight games across all competitions. Prior to that, Brighton edged past Bournemouth thanks to Kaoru Mitoma’s lone goal three minutes from time. It was their 10th top flight victory of the season.

Fulham , on the other hand, put two goals past Forest without reply in their last match. Willian opened the scoring with a stunning 17th-minute strike before Manor Solomon doubled the lead two minutes from time. It was the Cottagers’ 10th Premier League-win of the campaign. The promoted team has certainly punched above their weight to be sitting just four points adrift of the top-four. Meanwhile, Marco Silva’s side boast the best points tally (35) for a promoted team after their first 23 matches of a top-flight season since Wigan Athletic (37), 17 years ago.

The reverse fixture between these two sides was less than six months ago, which ended 2-1 in favour of Fulham, thanks to Aleksandar Mitrovic’s opener and Lewis Dunk’s own goal. The Seagulls pulled on back through Alexis Mac Allister’s from the penalty spot. The Cottagers have never lost against Brighton in their last six encounters, while winning three of those. But the Seagulls have a slight advantage when it head-to-head, having registered 16 wins compared to 13 for Fulham in 33 meetings.
