Blackpool will host Millwall in an EFL Championship fixture at Bloomfield Road on Friday night. The reverse fixture in September last year ended 2-1 in favour of Millwall courtesy of Zian Flemming’s opener inside the opening 14 minutes and Benik Afobe’s winner three minute into the hour mark. Meanwhile, the hosts are heading into the match on the back of a narrow 1-0 win away to Birmingham last weekend, while Millwall suffered a surprise 2-1 defeat against rock bottom side Wigan Athletic.

Blackpool kept their faint survival hopes alive courtesy of securing their 10th league-win of the season against the Blues last Saturday. The Seasiders got the better of Birmingham at St. Andrew’s thanks to Ian Poveda’s lone goal in the second half. Despite the victory, the Terriers are still languishing at the 23rd spot in the English second tier standings, having collected 41 points from 44 games, three points adrift of safety, but have played a game more than the three teams just above the drop zone. Stephen Dobbie’s side know only back-to-back wins in their final games will give them any slither of hope in maintaining their second division status for another season. Meanwhile, Blackpool have recorded six wins, six draws and ten defeats from their 22 league-matches at Bloomfield Road this season.
Millwall, on the other hand, lost out to Wigan last time out despite the fact that George Saville canceled out Will Keane’s opener. Thelo Asgaard’s 84th-minute effort handed Millwall their 15th league-defeat of the campaign. The Lions have slipped out of the top six, having pocketed just five points from their last seven outings and their lone victory in the period came against Preston North end on April 15. Gary Rowett’s side are currently occupying seventh position in the Championship table, with 65 points to their name from 44 matches, level on points with sixth-placed Sunderland, but separated by goal-difference.
