Birmingham are unbeaten in their last three outings, recording two wins and a draw to collect 10 points in that period. The Blues fought back to earn a point against Reading at Madejski Stadium last time out, thanks to Lucas Jutkiewicz’s 29th-minute equaliser. Prior to that, John Eustace’s side secured a narrow 1-0 win over sixth-placed Blackburn Rovers courtesy of Red Khadra’s effort on the hour-mark. It was Birmingham’s 13th second tier victory of the season. Meanwhile, the Blues have won only seven of their 20 Championship-games at St Andrew’s this term. On a positive note, Birmingham got the better of Stoke (2-1) in the reverse fixture in November last year thanks to goals from Scott Hohan and Harlee Dean.
Stoke, on the other hand, are also in pretty good form, having recorded three wins, two draws and a defeat from their last six outings. The Potters secured their 14th league-win of the season against Coventry City last weekend, thanks to four unanswered goals from from Jacob Brown, Tyrese Campbell, Will Smallbone and Ki-Ja Hoever. However Alex Neil’s side couldn’t extend their unbeaten run to six games as they were beaten by Bristol City on Friday, despite taking the lead through Nick Powell’s 36th-minute opener. Meanwhile, Stoke have the seventh-best away record in the league this season, having taken 28 points from 20 games on the road.
Birmingham probable starting lineup: Ruddy, Colin, Roberts, Long, Trusty, Bielik, Chang, Chong, Hall, Khadra, Jutkiewicz
Stoke City probable starting lineup: Bonham, Hoever, Wilmot, Jagielka, Sterling, Pearson, Laurent, Brown, Smallbone, Campbell, Powell
