Both sides are heading into the match on the back of dominant La Liga-wins this weekend, with the hosts defeating Elche 4-0, while Real Madrid thrashed Real Valladolid 6-0.
Barcelona and Real Madrid will meet for the fifth time this season in the second leg of their Copa del Rey semi-final tie at Camp Nou on Wednesday night. The first leg at Santiago Bernabeu last month ended 1-0 in favour of Blaugrana courtesy of Eder Militao’s own goal in the first-half. Barca are the most successfull team in the history of the competition, having won the title a record 31 times, with the latest triumph coming in 2021. Los Blancnos, on the other hand, have won the domestic cup title 19 times. Meanwhile, both sides are heading into the match on the back of dominant La Liga-wins this weekend, with the hosts defeating Elche 4-0, while Real Madrid thrashed Real Valladolid 6-0.

Barcelona put four goals past rock-bottom side Elche, thanks to Robert Lewandowski’s brace and one goal each from Ansu Fati and Ferran Torres. The result extended Barca’s winning streak to five games across all competitions, scoring nine goals and conceding only once during that period, and it was their 23rd league-win of the season. Blaugrana are comfortably sitting at the summit of the La Liga Santander, with 71 points to their name from 27 games, 12 points clear of second-placed Real Madrid. Since being humbled 3-0 by Bayern Munich in the Champions League back in October last year, Barca have embarked on a nine-game unbeaten run in front of their own supporters, with their most recent victory in that sequence coming against Los Blancos (2-1).
Real Madrid managed to take the lead through Ronald Araujo’s own goal inside the opening ten minutes, but Sergio Roberto equalised on the stroke of half-time before substitute Franck Kessie scored a 92nd-minute winner to help Xavi’s side secure their third consecutive El Clasico-win this season. Nevertheless, Carlo Ancelotti’s side bounced back by putting six goals past Valladolid this weekend, courtesy of Rodrygo’s 22nd-minute opener, Karim Benzema’s first-half hat-trick and second-half efforts from Marcos Asensio and Lucas Vazquez. It was Real Madrd’s 18th top flight victory of the campaign. While Barca have been regular attendees at the Copa del Rey final, Los Blancos failed to reach the showpiece event since the 2013-14 season, where they beat Blaugrana in the final.

Real Madrid probable starting lineup: Courtois, Vazquez, Militao, Nacho, Alaba, Kroos, Tchouameni, Modric, Valverde, Benzema, Vinicius Jr
