The Black and Blues have won 14 league-games this term and their latest success came away to relegation-threatened Cremonese (3-1) at the start of this month thanks to goals from Marten de Roon, Jeremie Boga and Ademoola Lookman. Gian Piero Gasperini’s side have collected just 14 points from their last 11 matches in the second half of the season and the poor run of form has pushed them out of European qualification spot. Meanwhile, Atalanta managed to secure a narrow 1-0 win over Roma in the reverse fixture in September last year courtesy of Giorgio Scalvini’s first-half effort.
Roma, on the other hand, are in stunning form having recorded four wins and one defeat from their last five matches across all competitions. The Wolves defeated Feyenoord 4-1 on Thursday to secure a 4-2 aggregate win and progress to the semi-finals of the Europa League. Jose Mourinhi’s side overturned a one goal deficit in the second leg, thanks to goals from Leonardo Spinazzola, Paulo Dybala, Stephan El Shaarawy and Lorenzo Pellegrini at Stadio Olimpico. Prior to that, the Yellow and Reds thrashed Udinese 3-0 in the Italian top flight courtesy of goals from Edoardo Bove, Lorenzo Pellegrini and Tammy Abraham. It was their 17th Serie A-win of the season. Meanwhile, Roma have the fourth-best away-record in the top flight this season, having taken 25 points from 15 matches.
