Leicestershire and Northamptonshire are all set to face each other in the upcoming match of the Vitality T20 Blast at County Ground in Leicester on Friday (June 23). While Leicestershire are struggling at the bottom of the points table with only two wins out of 11 matches, Northamptonshire are placed at the seventh spot with five wins from 12 matches so far as well. However, in their last match against Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire faced a 22-run loss. Leicestershire had a few good shows from Mulder, who scored 38 runs off 26 balls, and Nick Welch, who hit 32 runs off 30 balls. Tom Scrivan took 4 wickets, while Callum Parkinson claimed three wickets as well.
On the other hand, Northamptonshire faced a six-wicket loss to Derbyshire in their last encounter. Despite the defeat, Emilio Gay hit 47 runs off 34 balls and Chris Lynn’s quickfire 33 runs off 23 balls was one of the positives as well. David Willey took two wickets. With this, both teams will try to improve their position in the points table by securing a win as well.
